  • 1960s

    In 1959, Edyth Bryant was interested in chartering a local chapter of Zeta Phi Beta after consulting with then Midwestern Regional Director, Jewell Livingston. In addition to the five Zetas, three additional ladies (Jeanette McCrary Goens, Rebecca Miller and Ruth Walton-Slater) expressed interest in becoming Zetas.

  • 1970s

    As the Zeta Zeta Zeta membership continued to increase, service and scholarship became the focus of the Chapter. Several new programs initiated, included: a Vietnam Veterans donation program to benefit the Veterans in cooperation with the Fitzsimons General Hospital's Project Lift Program and visiting various nursing homes and day care centers in the Metro area.

  • 1980s

    Membership continued to grow with the charter of a second undergraduate chapter, Tau Kappa, was established on the University of Colorado at Boulder campus in May 1980. To further the Zeta principal of “service,” new projects were developed, which included: workshops on “People and Food”, funded by a grant from the Colorado Humanities Program and supporting the National NAACP’s relief for Haitian Refugees project in the Denver metropolitan area.

  • 1990s

    During this time, Zeta began a transition. More recent college graduates joined bringing with them fresh new ideas. and Omicron Omicron Chapter was charted on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins in October 1993. An innovative and ongoing project was established with the Excelsior Youth Center.

  • 2000s

    Zeta Zeta Zeta continued to focus on our Founding Principles of Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. We currently sponsor two youth mentoring programs: Amicettes (middle school age ladies) and Archonettes (high school age ladies). We chartered a new Denver Citywide Undergraduate Chapter Delta Tau.

  • 2010s

    50 years later, Zeta Zeta Zeta with the help of our Z-Community Foundation we have sponsored over $50,000 in scholarship dollars over the 50 years. Our service to the Denver Metro community included support to Cleaves Thanksgiving and Christmas Feeding for the community, Feed the community (Amicae Auxiliary), March of Dimes March for Babies, Race for the Cure, 2010 Census activities, MLK Marade, Homeless Coalition at Lowry- community children’s birthday celebrations.
